New safeguarding model launched in Lancashire

An innovative new safeguarding approach has been launched in Lancashire for healthcare staff to protect vulnerable adults and children at risk of harm from abuse and neglect.

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust launched the Safeguarding Adults and Mental Capacity Act Champions model by hosting a conference at the Samlesbury Hotel, Preston event with presentations from champions and members of the Safeguarding team.

Jake Berry MP, who spoke at the conference said: “This was a really useful event to highlight the issue of Safeguarding.

“ I would like to put on record my appreciation to Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust for arranging this conference and offer my thanks to the staff for their dedication to helping those in need across Lancashire.”

Max Marshall, Medical Director at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said:“Looking out for the most vulnerable people and those at most risk is of paramount importance to us.

“Safeguarding vulnerable people who receive our services can only be achieved through a highly skilled, collaborative, knowledgeable and competent workforce.”
