A support group for people in Lancashire living with rheumatoid or inflammatory arthritis has been launched in Preston.
Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Rheumatology Service and its Patient Support Group, led by service user Harry Goulding, have partnered with the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) to provide a support group for people living with the condition.
The launch was held at the Minerva Centre in Preston with a reception for those living with the condition as well as their family and carers.
Elizabeth MacPhie, consultant rheumatologist at the Trust said: “We were really pleased to see such a great turn out and were happy to see everyone get so much out of the evening. People were able to ask our panel of healthcare experts, questions about the disease and find out about services and support available to them.”
The group will be running regular sessions and reviewing frequency depending on demand.
