FYLDE MP Mark Menzies will host a ‘Dementia Friends’ session for people to learn more about helping those suffering from the illness.

Mr Menzies wants Fylde to become one of the UK’s first dementia-friendly communities and he says the session is key to getting that project off the ground.

He is also keen for the constituency to become a pioneer for dementia diagnosis and treatment and raised the issue during a private meeting with Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt.

He said: “It can be very difficult to know how best to help someone who may need assistance.”
