Mental health and community nurses came together to celebrate International Nurses Day.

Nurses at Lancashire Care joined together to discuss the issues that impact on the care on the people they look after.

Dee Roach, director of nursing and quality at Lancashire Care said: “Throughout the organisation I see absolutely fantastic examples of high quality and compassionate care by nurses in sometimes challenging circumstances.

“Nurses Day is about celebrating and sharing this fantastic work and the incredible contribution that they make to patient’s lives. It also provides the opportunity to connect with other nurses who work in a variety of specialities from across the organisation to have a conversation and listen to what their peers have to say and why they are proud to be a nurse working at Lancashire Care. The direction for nursing in our organisation is something that is very important to me and I am clear that the people who will influence that direction are those doing the job at the point of care.”
