A Lancashire health trust is leading by examples - and has become smoke free.

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, which provides mental health and community services across Lancashire, has implemented a new Nicotine Management Policy.

It means that smoking, including the use of any tobacco products or e-cigarettes, will not be allowed anywhere on Trust premises.

Support is available for current smokers and e-cigarette users from the Quit Squad, the Trust’s stop smoking service. The team are on hand to provide advice for anyone who wants to quit smoking.

Medical director Professor Max Marshall said: “We believe it is important that anyone who visits one of our sites, whether to work, to access our services or to visit a family or friend, has the right to a healthy and smokefree environment. The Quit Squad can be contacted by calling 0800 328 6297 or visit
