“We are asking the people of Preston to support their local heart charity during National Heart Awareness Month in February by either taking part in ‘Fe-BREW-ary’, hosting their very own coffee morning or afternoon tea, or by joining us in digging out red items of clothing to simply ‘Wear it red’ for the whole day on Friday, February 26.

“Both options are a great way to get together with friends and family whilst collecting sponsorship for Heartbeat.”

She added: “Funds raised during our February campaigns will go towards the ongoing work provided to local people that require heart rehabilitation by providing an exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation programme, fully supervised by trained instructors, to those recovering from heart attack, surgery or stroke, and supporting those at risk of developing these conditions.”
