The date has been announced for the grand opening of Preston’s newest skate park.
The skate park, on the city’s Moor Park, is to be opened on September 13.
Work is ongoing on the park, in the £320,000 project.
At yesterday’s full council meeting, Coun David Borrow asked for an update on the works.
Coun Robert Boswell, cabinet member for community and environment, said: “The skate park is going to be a very important asset to people in the region.
“It’s good news in the oasis of bad news.
“There’s an opening on September 13 and a demonstration on the skate park.”
The skate park has been funded by the Heritage and Big Lottery Funds. Funding support has also come from Preston Council, UCLan and Community Gateway Association.
