Andrew Ross and four of his friends, Pete Smith, Jonathan Cuff, Adam Horabin and Paul Young, completed the Three Peaks Challenge, raising £660 for Heartbeat which supported his dad before he died in 2016, aged 73.

With the aid of driver David Latham, the team completed the challenge in 23 hours and 15 minutes, with conditions varying from -4 degrees at the top of Ben Nevis to over 28 degrees at Snowdon.

Andrew, 51, said: “I’m pleased that I could do something in honour of my dad and raise a bit of cash for Heartbeat. It was tiring at times and the weather didn’t help, but we got there in the end. Also thanks to Jon cuff who did all the organising.”

Lisa Riding, Heartbeat fund-raiser, said: “Well done to the team for taking part in this gruelling challenge in memory of George and behalf of Heartbeat. A wonderful £660 was raised in sponsorship. The vital funds raised will contribute to the ongoing cardiac rehabilitation services provided to over 800 local people every week.”
