The funeral is taking place this week for a mother and daughter who were killed while on a trip to the Lake District.
Kelly Webster, 36, and her daughter Lauren Thornton, 10, died in a tragic boating accident while in Windermere on April 1.
Family and friends are expected to pack St Mary’s RC Church, on Broadfield Drive in Leyland, on Thursday to pay their respects.
The popular pair, of Church Road, Leyland, had been described as being able to ‘light up a room’.
They had been enjoying a day out on Lake Windermere with Kelly’s partner, Matthew Eteson, 39, when they were found suffering from breathing difficulties in the back of the private boat.
Both were airlifted to Royal Lancaster Infirmary but later died.
It is thought that they died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Mr Eteson, a company director, was taken to hospital but released the following day after treatment.
Lauren, known to her family as ‘Lollipop’, was a year six pupil at St Anne’s RC Primary School in Leyland.
She was described by her family as having an ‘infectious smile’ and a love of horses.
She was due to start learning to ride horses again with her mum Kelly just before their tragic deaths.
Speaking earlier this month, ahead of what would have been Lauren’s 11th birthday, her grandmother Nia, who she called ‘nanny’, of Golden Hill Lane, Leyland, said: “Lauren didn’t have a care in the world.
“She loved spending time with her mum and was at the age where they had just started to go shopping together and getting their nails manicured.
“They were very, very close.”
A full inquest hearing is yet to take place.
