Norman has attended rehabilitation classes at Heartbeat since 2010 when he had stents fitted into his heart to help with his heart condition.

Lisa Riding, Heartbeat fund-raiser, said: “I would like to thank Norman and Margaret for choosing Heartbeat to benefit from their golden wedding anniversary and I would like to thank all their friends and family for their kind generosity in raising such a wonderful amount.

“We would like to encourage others to do the same whether it is a special birthday party, wedding or anniversary. If you have all you need and do not want your family and friends to buy you a gift then why not raise funds for Heartbeat your local heart rehabilitation centre.”

The money raised will go towards services for people that require heart rehabilitation by providing an exercise-based Cardiac Rehabilitation programme.
