Freestyle footballer John Farnworth to show off skill at St Catherine's Hospice yellow day

A freestyle footballer whose jaw-dropping kicks and tricks have wowed audiences around the world will be showing off his amazing skills at this year's Yellow Day garden fete in aid of St Catherine's Hospice.

John Farnworth, whose talent has been showcased in adverts for top brands like Pepsi and Nike, will be a special guest at the popular annual event which takes place this year on Sunday June 21.

The 28-year-old Lancashire lad, who grew up in Longridge, is the holder of five Guinness World Records and has even completed the 26.2 mile London Marathon while doing continuous kick-ups.

Visitors to the Yellow Day event will get to see him in action up close and pick up some hints and tips from the footballing maestro to take away and practice.

John, who has won both the World and European Football Freestyle Championships, said: “I’m excited to be involved in Yellow Day and showing my support for all the fantastic things that St Catherine’s are doing. 

“I feel in a privileged position to be able to use my skills in a positive way.”

Other attractions at Yellow Day, which is sponsored by Barkers Ssangyong, include stalls, fairground rides, games, entertainment and a BBQ.

Yellow Day takes place on Sunday June 21 from 11am until 4pm at St Catherine’s in Lostock Lane. Free entry to people wearing yellow.
