The schedule for this year’s Park It events has been released.

The project, created by local community groups, Preston City Council, Lancashire County Council, the Police and Community Gateway Association, offers young people a wide range of free activities at various Preston parks each week in August as the hugely successful events return for a fifth year.

From August 1, the free events consist of various activities aimed at diverting young people from anti-social behaviour.

This year will see the introduction of new activities like bubble football and a silent disco, as well as climbing tower, inflatable penalty shoot- out, bungee run, inflatable slide, face painting, arts and crafts, music, healthy snacks and much more.

Mayor of Preston Councillor Nick Pomfret, said: “It is great to see yet again the partners of Preston working together to give young people somewhere to go and enjoy activities safely on a Friday night in the school holidays.”

The launch event will be held at Ribbleton Park and is being led by Heritage Church Preston.

August 8 will be held at Dovedale Park, Augsut 15 will be at Ashton Park and the final event at Moor Park.

The will be led by Ingol and Tanterton Community Trust, Fishwick Rangers and Preston Sports Forum respectively.

All events will take place between 5pm and 8pm.
