As official race charity, Rosemere Cancer Foundation will receive £1 for every entrant from race organisers.

Rosemere has also been given a number of race numbers, entitling the holders to free entry, providing they commit to raising £100 in sponsorship to support Rosemere. The race organisers have now offered a donation of £10 to the charity for every marshall put forward by Rosemere.

Entry to the 10 mile race, which starts at 10 am on Sunday August 12, from Walmer Bridge Village Hall, is £17 in advance for registered club runners or £19 for non club runners, rising to £19 and £21 respectively for on the day entries.

The two lap race follows a predominantly flat, fast course and is open to anyone over the age of 17 years up to a maximum field of 750 runners. In addition, there is a tandem one lap five mile race setting off at the same time, entry to which costs £12 for club runners and £14 for non club runners.

Cathy Skidmore, Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s grants and corporate fund-raising manager, said: “This is a long established event in the local athletics calendar that attracts runners of all standards from elite club runners to those running to do their bit for various good causes.

“If anyone is intending to enter but not yet done so and would be prepared to find family, friends and work colleagues willing to sponsor them to run on our behalf, please get in touch. And for anyone who wants to support the event and can’t do the run, but would consider marshalling, please do get in contact. A free City of Preston technical race T-shirt is on offer.”
