Four solicitors among seven men charged with £1m fraud

FOUR solicitors are among seven men from Preston charged with being part of a £1m fraud conspiracy.

The men, aged between 25 and 35, were arrested after an investigation by the City of London Police’s Insurance Fraud Enforcement Unit.

Lawyers Nadir Suleman, 29, of Clement Road, Fulwood, Nadim Iqbal, 27, of Greyfriars Avenue, Fulwood, Wasim Iqbal, 25, of Manor Avenue, Fulwood, and Aadiel Salya, 27, of Church Brow, Walton-le-Dale were all charged at Preston police station with conspiracy to defraud. Also charged with the offence were delivery driver Arif Patel, 31, of Highgate Avenue, Fulwood, recruitment consultant Alex Butler, 28, of Parklands Drive, Fulwood, and Yasin Salya, 35, a self-employed property developer, of Cooper Hill Drive, Walton-le-Dale.

The conspiracy is said to involve fraudulent medical and credit hire invoices, estimated to be in the region of £950,000.

All seven were bailed to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 2.
