Firefighters use ropes to reach and save sheep stuck on cliff edge in Sabden

Fire crews spent over two hours on Boxing Day rescuing two sheep stuck on a cliff edge at Clerk Hill Road.

Fire engines from Nelson, Great Harwood, Chorley attended the scene in Sabden, just before 10-30am on Saturday. They were assisted by the animal rescue unit from Bamber Bridge.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters used rope rescue equipment to rescue two sheep from a cliff edge and were at the scene for two hours and fifteen minutes."
