Firefighters to return to scene of blaze

​Officers were called to a building under construction in Imperial Road​ at around 5pm last night.

Six fire engines attended a fire involving large batteries.

​Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hosereels, five dry powder extinguishers, one jet and a ventilation unit.

The ​s​ervice worked with the staff on site, site experts and other partners to make sure the fire was contained and the damage to the batteries didn​‘​t cause any environmental damage.

​Officers were return​ing this morning to inspect the site. ​​

​​No injuries were reported.
