Firebugs started blaze near Preston block of flats

Firefighters were called to Fir Trees Place, Ribbleton, Preston, shortly after 11pm last night (Friday).

It appears to involve a bin compound - and was quickly put out by firefighters.

At its height flames could be seen leaping into the air.

This video was taken by an onlooker who said firefighters were there within minutes and dealt with the blaze.

He said: "The local kids set the fire. They hang around every day messing around.

"The parents are nowhere.

"I just hope the parents will see the post and they can do something about it."

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Serevice spokesman confirmed crews attended.
