Fire rips through farm building in Goosnargh
More than 25 firefighters battled a blaze at a farm building in Goosnargh, say fire services.
Crews were called to the farm on Syke House Lane at around 4.45pm on Tuesday April 24 following a 999 call from a member of the public.
The fire, which is believed to have ripped through the agricultural workshop after sparks from a grinder ignited, completely destroyed the building.
A spokesman for Fulwood Fire Station said: "We were called out to a farm fire and five of our engines attended.
"The fire was well established on arrival but was quickly extinguished once our resources were in place.
"We used two mainline jets and pumped water from a nearby pond.
"There was an added complication in that the building did contain asbestos so we used P3 masks.
"This was just an unfortunate accident but please be vigilant when using cutting or grinding equipment."
Nobody was injured in the incident.
Crews left the scene at around 7.30pm.
