Fire crews tackle flat fire in Lancaster

Fire crews were called out to tackle a fire at a flat in Lancaster last night (Thursday, December 10).

Crews from Lancaster and Morecambe rushed to the scene after a fire broke out in a flat in Ingleton Drive on the Hala estate, shortly before midnight.

Three fire engines were deployed, with firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus entering the home where they brought the blaze under control with hose reels.

No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said crews were at the scene for 1 hour and 25 minutes.

A fire service spokesman said: "At 11.38pm on December 10, three fire engines from Lancaster and Morecambe attended a fire involving a first floor flat in Ingleton Drive, Lancaster.

"Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation unit to bring the fire under control.

"Crews were in attendance for one hour and twenty five minutes."
