Fire breaks out in car park of old Lancashire Post building

A fire broke out in the car park of what used to be the Lancashire Post headquarters.

Two fire crews from Preston and Fulwood were called to the car park off Caxton Road, Fulwood, at 8.15am to reports that a three vehicles were on fire, and that other cars were nearby.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus to safely approach the burning cars and extinguished the fire using two hosereels.

A fire service spokesman said: "Four vehicles were damaged. Three of them were severely damaged, and another must have get a bit of scorching."

There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
