Martin Carlin, of the Leyland Town team, which helps to organise the festival, said: “Last year the bunting was not there so we have taken it upon ourselves to make sure there was. It clearly identifies the fact the festival is around the corner. The festival is part of Leyland’s heritage. It originated from Leyland Motors and it has got bigger each year. It is a celebration of the many local people, volunteers, local businesses and community groups who pull together to make sure the festival continues to go from strength to strength each year. People have a great passion for it. It puts Leyland on the map.

“The team is very proud to be part of this special annual occasion. We will be bringing with us lots of old traditional fete games, as well as more than 100 cruise cars.”

Sue Vincent, at Dance Talent, said “We first performed at the festival in 2011 and it was a huge success. We have since taken part a number of times as it is a fantastic local event and a great opportunity for the children to perform in the local community.”
