The store, which mainly sells submarine sandwiches and salads, will be owned and operated by Fylde businessman Martin Gibson who also owns Subway stores in Clitheroe, Cleveleys, Kirkham and Bispham.

Martin opened his first store in Cleveleys, near Blackpool, in 2009, and has worked tirelessly to become the best performing franchisee in the region.

Last year he became Subway Owner of the Year for the Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside and Isle of Man regions and also sponsors swimming club Clitheroe Dolphins.

Neil Denny, Subway regional development agent, said: “We are pleased to announce a new Subway store will open in February in Garstang and this will be Martin’s fifth Subway store.

“This new store is in direct response to the increasing consumer demand in the town for affordable, healthier choices offered by the Subway and we’re sure that the new store will be a great success.

“There are numerous franchise opportunities across the north west region, many of which will be in smaller towns or out of town and rural locations.”
