Fund-raising co-ordinator John Gibson said: “We had young volunteers from local high school who were all superb and managed to collect over £100 in donations.

“We also had young children as mascots, all of whom attend local primary schools. My thanks also to Mike Inkley who took the photographs. I also wish to thank Morrisons at Bamber Bridge who have agreed to sponsor the Bamber Bridge Football Club primary schools newsletter again this season.

“On behalf of Frank Doyle, the chairman of the club, we thank everybody for their great support at the match, it was brilliant.”

If any school pupils wish to volunteer or be mascots email johnsquashcoach@gmail.com.
