Have your say

Chorley became awash with famous faces as stars and their cars rolled into the town centre, all to help raise money for a very worthy cause.

Collectables store Films and Figures, on Clarence Street, held the event to generate funds for the Help For Heroes charity, and recognisable vehicles, including KITT from Knight Rider and Transformers’ Beaterbee, wowed the crowds.

Kevin Yates, owner of Films and Figures, said: “It was a truly awesome day and I can happily announce that all of the amazing people who came on the day raised a whopping £767 for Help For Heroes, which we are going to round up to £800.

“I cannot describe how totally overwhelmed and proud I am of what the people of Chorley and the surrounding area did.

“We had over 500 people in attendance and really put our little town on the map.”

Kevin added: “I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended and donated to our charity, and a massive thank you to all my friends who gave up their own time to don red event jumpers and stand out in the cold to ensure everyone was safe.

“Finally, a big thank you to all the amazing costumers and car owners who gave up their time to attend and put a smile on so many faces.”

Money was raised with a raffle for prizes donated by the store and children competed for the best fancy dress on the day.
