Evoque in Preston donates to Baby Beat Appeal

The money will fund a cardiotocography ultrasound monitor to measure a baby’s heart rate during later stages of pregnancy and during labour to check for signs of distress and to monitor the mother’s contractions. It gives an insight into what is happening in the womb and can also identify a number of complications to alert clinicians.

Leigh said: “We supported this appeal because it is so important in the local community. We know this machine will make a big difference to babies and their families. It is our way of giving back. We hold regular collections at the club and our customers are always generous.”

Karen Entwistle, charity manager at The Baby Beat Appeal, said: “We are truly grateful for the support of the Echo Trust and Evoque Preston for their amazing help and kind donation which will enable the purchase of a brand new CTG monitor. With more than 4,600 births annually on the Sharoe Green Maternity Unit, the pregnant ladies and unborn babies will have access to the very best technology to date, thanks to this donation.”
