“The Leyland Hotel was so obliging and helpful and really put themselves out.

“I couldn’t have done it without their help.

“The violinist Amy Fields was absolutely fantastic, everybody enjoyed it.

“We had a disco as well, the food was absolutely brilliant, the table setting, everything was beautiful.

“There were fifty five guests. We had an auction, various people donated prizes including myself, we had a raffle, ‘heads and tails’ and a mask competition. It was very good. It was a great success, everybody had a lovely night.”

She added: “It was just one of my charity events I wanted to do.”
