Wet week as Gonzalo dies out over the UK

After a night of being battered by gales, people across Central Lancashire are being warned to prepare for a week of bad weather.

According to the Met Office, the remnants of the former Hurricane Gonzalo hitting the UK mean things in the North West will remain very windy for the rest of the week.

Today’s rain will clear with sunny intervals developing across the region.

However, a spokesman for the weather centre said we can expect some showers moving in from the north west, perhaps with thunder and hail.

The temperatures will be noticeably colder than recently. Maximum temperatures will be 11c,

The outlook for Wednesday to Friday isn’t much better.

Predictions are that it will remain windy on Wednesday and Thursday, with some outbreaks of rain or showers at times.

On Friday, rain will move across much of the country.
