According to the Manchester Weather centre there will be scattered showers moving in from the west this evening, but it should ease off later.
It will be a cold night, with a widespread frost likely and there is a risk of patchy ice. Temperatures are set to fall to at least -1 overnight.
Tomorrow will see a cold and largely dry start, then rain and strong winds. Some snow is likely, most probably across the hills but there could be flurries on lower ground later.
Temperatures for the first day of the sales won’t rise above six degrees.
More wintry showers - and rain- are forecast for the rest of the weekend, when there will also be a widespread frost.
