Members of Central Lancashire Friends of the Earth will be speaking at Tuesday’s South Ribble Council meeting.

The environmental group is worried councillors want to ban wind turbines, and the controversial plans will be discussed and voted upon at the meeting from 6pm.

A draft planning document proposes a 1km “separation distance” between residential properties and wind turbines, which the group claims is in opposition to national policy. They say it will lead to costly appeals and “would disproportionately harm small-scale applications such as by farmers.”
