A furious homeowner says he is tired of being “fobbed off” by a developer over his filthy windows and car.

Richard Redgrove, 45, said sand and dirt from a new Taylor Wimpey development off Northgate, Leyland, has been showering down on his property in Kennett Drive since work began.

He said: “We live opposite the Albion Gate development, and had no real issue until the problems with dust started.

“They took the trees down before they started work, so we’re in the firing line for all the dirt, and we’re getting absolutely hammered with filth all the time.

“I’m constantly having to power wash my house and my car, and I’ve got better things to do with my family when I get home from work.

“We can’t even have the windows open in the house because the dirt gets in and marks the walls.”

He added: “I’ve been in touch with Taylor Wimpey and all they’ve done is come and put some green netting on fencing along Northgate, which is totally useless.

“Over a week-and-a-half ago I asked them to come down and look at the problem again, and I’ve just been fobbed off.

“They just don’t appear to be interested, meanwhile our soffits and window sills are red with the dust and we can’t keep up with cleaning.”

A Taylor Wimpey spokesman said: “We always work extremely hard to ensure that building work at our developments causes the bare minimum of disruption to the local community.

“As such, we hold regular consultations with the neighbours of our Albion Gate development and use an external company to monitor the dust levels which have always been acceptable. While this is an isolated complaint, we are taking it extremely seriously, are in touch with Mr Redgrove and are actively trying to resolve his grievances.”
