Energi jumps for joy at helping Race for Life funds
A Preston business took a giant leap as staff, participants and members of public raised Â£400 to help fund the battle against cancer.
Energi Trampoline Park teamed up with Cancer Research UK to stage a Race for Life takeover during its Energi-Fit session.Janet Armstrong and Belinda Roskell, attended the evening dressed all in pink and collectively raised a fantastic Â£255 between them.Jennifer Bailey, Energi Trampoline Parks business development manager, said: “We are thrilled with the support from everybody that took part in the Energi-fit takeover. “Everybody was in such great spirits and it was fantastic to see a sea of pink out on the trampolines.“It is an honour to support a fantastic charity such as Cancer Research UK and we urge the women of Preston to sign up to the summers events. We are looking forward to hosting our very own obstacle along with our Street Monkey team at the Pretty Muddy event and we can't wait to see everybody there.”Rhian Coathup, Cancer Research UK’s North West events manager, added: “We are so grateful to everybody that attended and to the whole team at Energi for supporting Cancer Research UK. Everybody was such great sports in helping to highlight Race for Life in the city and a fantastic amount was raised on the night.“There is no better time to embark upon a new challenge and join in the Energi spirit by signing up to Race for Life 5k, 10k or Pretty Muddy events at Moor Park on Saturday and Sunday June 17 and 18.”Last year, Race for Life Pretty Muddy took place for the second year in the city. The women-only, non-competitive 5k and 10k obstacle course - with an extra helping of mud - received a whole-hearted welcome from the thousands of women who took part.Thanks to their enthusiasm, it will be returning and Energi will be providing a new obstacle exclusive to the Preston event. Organisers are urging women to secure their place as soon as possible. Rhian Coathup, continued: “By taking part in Race for Life, women can make a real difference in the fight against cancer. Signing up is a great motivation for them to pull on their leggings, limber up and kick-start the year.
