Two crews from Preston Fire Station attended a house fire in Ronaldsway yesterday evening.

The emergency services were called at around 11pm by the housholder who saw smoke coming from a faulty light fitting.

The prompt action of the householder was praised by Crew Manager Neil Parkinson who said: "Without the immediate action of the resident this fire could have been a lot worse."

No injuries or serious damage were reported.
