A primary school headteacher has volunteered to have his head shaved for the second time to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Stephen Knight, 44, from Abbey Village Primary School in Chorley, is to have his hair cut off next month in front of all of his staff and pupils.

The event on Wednesday, February 12 will be the 10th anniversary of when Stephen first underwent a head shave, back in 2004.

He made the decision after his wife Claire was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in March 2001, and then had six months of chemotherapy.

During the treatment she lost all of her hair and at the time Stephen promised he would lose all of his hair to raise money for a cancer charity.

Thankfully, Claire has now been in remission for more than 12 years.
