College students joined forces with primary school pupils to promote healthy living.

Sports students at Lancaster and Morecambe College teamed up with Asda and Grosvenor Park Primary School to teach young people about the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. The event included sporting activities and healthy eating sessions for more than 40 primary school children.

It was part of a partnership between the supermarket chain and Sports Leaders UK which aims to improve the health and employment prospects of young people, supporting 150,000 a year to get qualifications in sports leadership. Stuart Rimmer, director of quality and enterprise at LMC, said: ‘It is the work experience and involvement in these activities that set our students apart from other graduates looking for jobs. Working with local, national and international organisations has given us a great insight into the opportunities available.”
