Active fun was top of the timetable when infant school youngsters descended on a city high school.
Year Two pupils from nine schools moved up to Christ The King Catholic High in Preston as part of their PE partnership.
The children were split into teams of five boys and five girls from each school who competed in team races and co-ordination and motor skills tasks.
Year Seven Young Leaders from the Frenchwood high school organised the multi-skills events, encouraging the youngsters to achieve their best scores for each challenge and all the children worked really hard to accumulate points for their school.
Frenchwood Community Primary School were the overall winners of the afternoon, closely followed by St Joseph’s Catholic Primary.
Primary co-ordinator at Christ the King, Catherine Cartwright, said: “It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm with which the children took part.
“This event is part of a programme of activities which run throughout the year.
“It is great that we are able to support the primary schools in encouraging young people to become physically active and enjoying taking part in sport.
“We cannot wait to welcome them for the next activity.”
