Driver taken to hospital after falling ill at the wheel on the M6 in Lancashire

A motorist was taken to hospital after falling ill at the wheel on the M6 in Lancashire on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to a ‘medical incident’ between junction 31a and 31 on the southbound carriageway.

It happened in lane three of the motorway at around 10.15am.

The North West Motorway Police said on Twitter: “A driver experienced a temporary medical condition, vehicle stopped in lane three, taken to hospital as a precaution.”

The motorway is now clear.
