Driver sought after boy, 6, hit by car in Lancaster

The driver of a car that was involved in a collision with a six-year old boy in Lancaster is being urged to come forward.

The incident happened at 5pm on Monday February 1 when the boy was playing with a football in between two parked cars on Patterdale Road.

It is believed that he may have crouched down and stumbled into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

The boy suffered swelling and bruising to his face and head and lost a tooth.

The vehicle stopped briefly and spoke to a witness before driving off without leaving any details.

The car is described as small and silver and was driven by a man aged approximately fifty years of age and was wearing glasses.

PC Martin Wilcock from the Road Policing Unit said: “We are keen to trace the driver of this vehicle and I would urge him, if he sees this appeal, to make contact with us as soon as possible.
