Preston’s annual Dragon Boat Race is to return this summer in aid of eight Lancashire charities.
The 2015 race will take place on Saturday August 1, with businesses, charities and other organisations battling it out at Riversway in Preston.
Among the organisers are Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley and Rosemere Cancer Foundation in Preston, with live music, food stalls and fairground rides planned for the big day.
The event will see several of the county’s most popular charities come together to raise awareness and funds for their various concerns.
In addition to Derian House and Rosemere Cancer, the 2015 race will also benefit Cancer Help Preston, The Space Centre, Galloways, Heart Beat, the Jordan Grant Memorial Trust and the East Lancs Hospice.
It costs £350 per boat with a team of 17, or individuals can enter at a cost of £20 per person.
Sophie Saunders, fundraising manager at Derian House said: “We’re thrilled to be helping to bring this exciting event back for yet another year.
“The race has been a huge success every year it has been held because it offers so much variety. There are still some places available so we hope people will get behind the event this summer and raise some much needed money for these amazing Lancashire charities.”
