Police hunting two young shoplifters who used children’s pushchairs to hide stolen goods have issued a CCTV image of the pair.

The two women, each pushing a buggy, are alleged to have entered the Wilkinsons Home and Garden store in Penny Street, Lancaster on Wednesday January 15 and made off with items worth £31.50.

Officers say the pair, accompanied by another female, selected items which they hid in their buggies.

Then they picked up some low value items which they took to the tills and paid for before leaving the store.

The stolen items included a dustpan and brush and a set of curtains.

PC Carl Woods said: “The suspects in this case are in league with each other and I would urge anybody that recognises them to get in contact.”
