Woman left with broken ribs after being rugby-tackled by 6ft 5in robber

Police are hunting a duo who robbed and assaulted a woman at a cashpoint in Preston.

The woman was withdrawing £130 from an ATM on Tulketh Brow, Ashton when another woman snatched it. She bravely gave chase along Kimberley Road but a man, thought to be an accomplice, appeared and rugby-tackled her to the ground, leaving the victim with four broken ribs. It happened at 11.40pm on July 25.

PC Oliver Nevin from Preston Police called the attack “shocking” and asked anyone who saw a woman, caught on CCTV (inset), or a man, described as 6ft 5in and in a green hoody, to get in touch.
