Police arrested a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of wounding after an 18-year-old man suffered a serious head injury in a city centre pub.

The arrest came at around 2am on Sunday after claims that the victim had been glassed at the Twelve Tellers in Church Street, Preston.

The man had to be taken to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment to a deep laceration.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at shortly before 2am on Sunday following reports that an 18-year-old man had been assaulted at the Twelve Tellers pub.

“The man sustained a laceration to his head and was taken for treatment at Royal Preston Hospital.

“A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries until October 25.”
