Wesham man is accused of indecently assaulting girls in Preston

A man has appeared in court accused of a string of sexual offences against two girls in the 1990s.

Simon Norman Jackson, 50, of Station Road, Wesham, near Preston, is accused of attempted rape and taking an indecent photograph of a child

He also faces 12 indecent assault charges, five of gross indecency with a child, and one of exposing himself.

Both complainants, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were allegedly under 14 at the time.

Jackson, who wore a pink shirt and purple tie, did not enter any pleas to the charges.

Defending, Richard English asked for the defendant to be given bail.

Judge Philip Parry adjourned the case for a case management hearing on December 22, and set a trial date of July 19, 2021.

Jackson was granted conditional bail and warned not to contact the complainants.
