Warning over bogus workmen in Preston after callers take money and disappear

Residents in Preston have been warned about bogus workmen after a number of incidents in the city.

Police in Preston are warning about bogus workmen in the city

Preston Police say the callers have appeared in the Avenham and Frenchwood area of the city.

A spokesman said: "Please be aware there have been recent incidents whereby residents have been targeted by two males with strong Irish accents, who are offering gardening and removal services.

"In these instances, the residents have paid prior to the work being done, and the males have then left the area."
