Wanted man arrested in Penwortham

Police have arrested a man they wanted to interview about an alleged knifepoint robbery in Ashton, Preston.

Officers say Ian Fairley, 31, from Preston was detained in Penwortham on Friday night and taken in for questioning.

An appeal was issued to trace Fairley after allegations of a robbery in Bridge Road, Ashton on April 16.

A police spokesman said: "Wanted Ian Fairley, 31, from Preston was located and arrested by officers at an address in Penwortham."
