Wanted Blackpool man still evading police 5 months after woman was strangled in resort

A Blackpool man is still wanted in connection with a violent attack five months ago, when a woman was strangled and punched at a home in the resort.

Lancashire Police are re-appealing for the public's help in finding Freddie Broadbent, the 24-year-old who has been wanted since the woman was attacked last September.

Broadbent, formerly of Claremont Court, is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall, of medium to large build with ginger hair and blue eyes.

Police say Broadbent knows he is wanted and is actively evading officers since the incident on September 14, 2020.

PC Nick Morrison, of Blackpool Police, said: “Broadbent has been wanted in connection with a serious assault for some time now. He knows he is wanted and I want to appeal to him directly to do the right thing and had himself in."

But the force is urging the public not to approach Broadbent if they see him. Instead, they should contact police immediately with details of his whereabouts.

"We are appealing for information about Broadbent and urging anyone who sees him not to approach him," said PC Morrison.

"But if you know where he is please come forward with information and provide details of his location and clothing.”

Broadbent has links to Blackpool, Preston and Lancaster.
