Detectives in Burnley have launched a murder investigation after the body of a man was found this morning (Monday 27 July).
Police were called by the Ambulance Service after the man in his forties was discovered at a business premises on Balderstone Close, Burnley with significant head injuries.
A post mortem examination is due to take place to establish the cause of death. His family are in the process of being told, however formal identification is yet to take place.
Det Supt Paul Withers of the Force Major Investigation Team (FMIT) said: “We are in the early stages of our inquiries and are working to establish exactly how this man has come about these injuries.
“If you have any information about this man’s death, please get in contact with us at your earliest opportunity.”
