A man accused of the murder of a Preston man in Fishwick at the weekend has appeared before Preston Crown Court via video link from HMP Preston, where he is on remand.
Hugh Cushnaghan, 63, of Montgomery Street, Irvine, Scotland denied murder during a short hearing.
Steve Whitney, 50, who was originally from Cheshire,died after being found on Sunday with several stab wounds on Nimes Street, Fishwick.
It is understood he had grown up children.
The court heard the link between them was Cushnaghan's estranged wife.
She was asked to leave the public gallery by Judge Stuart Baker as she may be called to give evidence at a later date.
He will next appear on May 8 for trial.
