'Unexplained' death of Preston man found in car

Detectives are investigating the "unexplained" death of a man in Preston.

Officers were called at around 7:50am today June 22 to reports that the body of a man had been found in the back of a car on Beenland Street, Preston. Although he has yet to be formally identified, he is believed to be a 38-year-old local man.

His family have been informed.

His death is being treated as unexplained. Det Insp Martin Pearson from Preston Police said: “Firstly, my thoughts are with the family and friends of this man at this incredibly distressing time. “We are in the early stages of our investigation and are looking into the time leading up to this man’s death and how he has come to end up in the back of a Nissan car. “If anyone thinks they may have seen this man in the New Hall Lane or Beenland Street area late last night (Friday) or early this morning, please get in touch by calling 101 quoting incident reference 343 of June 22nd.” The man’s body remains in situ at this time whilst officers undertake their inquiries.
