Two people arrested after meat cleaver and 'large amount of drugs' found inside stolen car on M61

A stolen car was stopped by police and two people were subsequently arrested after officers found a "nasty weapon" and drugs during a search of the vehicle.

A stolen vehicle was "stung" by police on the M61 at around 5.16am this morning (April 2).

Officers found a "nasty weapon", which looks to be a meat clever, and a large amount of drugs while conducting a search of the vehicle.

The two occupants of the vehicle were subsequently arrested at the scene by police.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "Vehicle stung and two occupants arrested on M61.

"Vehicle contained a large amount of drugs and a nasty weapon best off the streets."
