Two charged over Accrington shooting after Bamber Bridge industrial estate searched

Shocked business owners have told how police officers descended on an industrial estate in connection with a shooting probe.

Police were yesterday searching an area of Walton Summit in Bamber Bridge in connection with an investigation into a shooting in east Lancashire on Monday.

One worker said police rushed to the scene after a car had been reported abandoned on the estate.

Two men were later charged with attempted murder over the shooting of Mark Walsh.

Donovan Wallace, 26, of Lytham, and Jack Wilding, 20, of no fixed address have both been charged with the attempted murder of Mark Walsh appeared at Blackburn Magistrates Court on Saturday morning and were remanded into custody.

Police were called at about 9pm on Monday, January 12 to a report that a 35 year old man had been assaulted outside an address on Maudsley Street in Accrington. It is alleged a shotgun was discharged.

A 29 year old man from Lytham who was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.
